Demonstrating text to speech app
Why type out a search string on a touch keyboard when you can simply ask a question? Voice interfaces enable unprecedented access for many people, overcoming literacy and technology barriers through a natural interface of human conversation.
Some uses include:
- Instant information: Voice access to readily available information and frequently searched for data such as phone/USSD numbers for bill pay, balance inquiries, and other financial services, as well as queries about consumer products and current pricing
- Weather Alerts: An illiterate farmer can get information on a daily basis that was previously was hard to get, i.e., weather forecasts and alerts, enabling better planning and livelihood-related decisions
- Text to speech: For the illiterate and vision-challenged, devices can read aloud (small) print on contracts, government forms, and instructions
